Dental Implants

Dental Implants are artificial teeth that are placed into your jaw to hold in place a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental Implants are made of either natural or synthetic substances that are made to look and feel like your own. Dental implants are used to give your smile a makeover and build your self-confidence in the process.

Every way you look at it, dental implants are a better solution to the problem of missing teeth. I don't think there is anything money can buy that would better improve the quality of life than dental implants for those who need them.

Ideal candidates for dental implants should have most of the following characteristics:

  • Generally good oral health
  • Healthy gum tissue
  • Adequate bone structure in the jaw
  • Have lost a tooth (or teeth) to periodontal disease or an injury

Esthetics...Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth! Since dental implants integrate into the structure of your bone, they prevent bone loss and gum recession that accompany bridgework and dentures. When a tooth is lost the bone is no longer stimulated and begins to shrink away. Bone loss creates sunken facial contours and wrinkles that make you appear older. Dental implants preserve bone and help to maintain a more youthful facial contour. No one will ever know that you have a replacement tooth.

Saves Teeth...Dental implants are an ideal option for people who have missing teeth. They don't sacrifice the quality of your adjacent teeth like a bridge does because neighboring teeth are not altered to support the implant. More of your own teeth are left untouched, a significant long-term benefit to your oral health! Dental implants are natural looking and feeling and can also be used to stabilize dentures. An added bonus being that there is no plastic plate in the roof of the mouth. If you have lost teeth and would like to eat, speak and smile with comfort and confidence, Dental Implants may be your best solution.

Confidence...Dental implants will allow you to once again speak and eat with comfort and confidence! They are secure and offer freedom from the embarrassing click and wobbles of dentures. If you are a denture wearer, you will be all too familiar with the suffering and discomfort associated with painful dentures that do not stay in place when eating and talking. This can cause mental and physical suffering and may also lead to loss of self-confidence. If it were possible for denture wearers to "test drive" implants, they would never go back!
